01What these technologies are
Websites and apps can store or read information on your device using:
- Cookies — small text files stored by your browser
- Local storage — data saved in your browser for a site
- SDKs — code from another company built into an app
- Scripts and tags — code that runs when a page loads
- Pixels — tiny images used to record that a page was viewed
- Similar technologies that store or access information on your device
02How Opinions uses them
Right now
Opinions only uses technologies that are essential to run the site, keep you signed in and remember your privacy choices. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking pixels.

| Hosting / security cookies | [ADMIN: confirm] | [ADMIN: confirm if hosting sets any cookies] | Essential | — | — | — |
Developer note: keep this table in step with the code. Items marked ADMIN need confirmation before launch.
04Essential technologies
Strictly necessary for the service you have asked for — signing in, security and remembering choices. These don’t need consent and cannot be switched off.
05Functional technologies
Remember small preferences, such as whether you have dismissed a prompt.
06Analytics and statistical technologies
Not currently used. If we add analytics, it will not run until you consent, and it will appear in your preferences.
07Personalisation technologies
Your For You feed is personalised using the interests stored with your account on our servers, not cookies or tracking.
08Advertising technologies
Opinions does not show advertising and does not use advertising technologies. If that ever changes, it will require your consent first.
09Third-party technologies
The third parties in the table above are the only ones currently involved. They are responsible for any technologies set on their own domains.
10Duration
Durations are listed in the table. Local storage stays until it is cleared by you, your browser, or us.
11Consent
Optional technologies only run after you choose to allow them. Optional choices are never pre-ticked, and rejecting is as easy as accepting.
Optional categories currently in use
None.
12Changing and withdrawing your preferences
You can change or withdraw your choices at any time — from here, the footer link “Cookie Preferences”, or Settings → Legal & Privacy.
13Updates
We will update this page whenever we add or remove a technology. If we add optional technologies, we will ask for your choice again.
