01Report content or make a complaint?
Report content
Use the menu on an opinion, argument, reply or profile. Best for content that breaks the Community Guidelines.
Legal complaint
For legal issues — defamation, privacy, copyright or a complaint about how we handled something. Email [ADMIN: legal email].
02How to report
Open the “⋯” menu on the content and choose Report. Pick a reason: Harassment, Hate or abuse, Spam, Threatening behaviour, Sexual content, Misleading information, Impersonation or Other. You can report:
- Opinions (posts) and arguments, comments and replies
- Profiles, usernames and profile images
- Illegal content, harassment, threats and hate
- Child-safety concerns and sexual exploitation — choose Other and describe it, or email the Safety Team
- Fraud, doxxing and impersonation
- Intellectual-property violations — see Copyright complaints below
- Any other safety concern
03What happens after a report
You’ll see “Reported to OPI”. The report is reviewed and you are notified of the outcome. You can follow its status in Profile → Reported.
04How reports are reviewed
Reports are assessed against the Community Guidelines, with context. Automated assistance helps us review quickly; people review appeals and escalations. Unpopular or controversial opinions are not removed just for being reported.
05Emergency situations
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999 first.
06Complaints about moderation
Use Request another review on the report or decision, or email us using the Contact button on your profile.
07Complaints about content not being removed
If you think we wrongly left something up, request another review from Profile → Reported, or email the Safety Team at [ADMIN: safety email].
08Privacy complaints
Email [ADMIN: privacy email]. You can also complain to the ICO.
09Legal complaints
Email [ADMIN: legal email] with the content location, the legal basis of your complaint and your contact details.
10Copyright complaints
See Copyright & IP for what to include.
11Appeals
See Moderation & Appeals.
12Contact routes
All contacts are listed on Contact & Legal Information.
